From 01-Aug-2017, as requested by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MMV) will carry out the recall campaign of replacing tail gate gas spring for Outlander Sport vehicles which have been produced the period from 2014 to 2016 and Pajero Sport vehicles which have been produced in the period from 2011 to 2016 at MMV’s authorized dealers nationwide, starting from 1st August.

The rear shock absorber system caused Mitsubishi to recall two models this time.

The reason of recall is that since insufficient anti-corrosion coating may be applied to end cap on outer tube of tailgate gas spring, it is possible for outer tube to corrode over time. If this outer tube of the gas spring stays corrosion, the broken end cap may hit the customer and/or the tailgate may fall down suddenly, potentially causing injury. The necessary time for replacement of tail gate gas spring is 30 minutes for Outlander Sport and 36 minutes for Pajero Sport.
