[Recall] Replace airbag inflators for Mitsubishi Pajero

From 01-Nov-2017, as requested by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MMV) will carry out the recall campaign of replacing driver and passenger side airbag inflator for 2,519 units of Mitsubishi Pajero vehicles which have been imported in the period from 2007 to 2016 at MMV’s authorized dealers nationwide, with detailed information as below.

• Recall campaign period: Nov 1st, 2017 – Oct 31st, 2019

The reason for recall: For certain airbag inflators of driver and passenger sides, the propellant (ammonium nitrate) in the airbag inflator may be deteriorated due to changes of temperature under humid condition for a long time use. As a result, the inflator body may rupture at the time of the airbag deployment.

With the purpose of prevention, MMC decided to replace the inflators for driver and passenger sides with countermeasure parts. The necessary time for replacement of driver’s side airbag inflator 0.5 hour (30 minutes) & passenger’s side airbag inflator 1.8 hour (108 minutes).

Customer care: Each Pajero customer comes to our dealers for replacing Airbag inflator and register your info (name, address, tel, email,  chassis no., mileage,etc.) will receive 1 Free engine oil change Coupon (free engine oil and labor cost) valid within 6 months.
