NHA TRANG CITY TRAIL 2026: EVERY CLIMB, A NEW LIMIT CONQUERED

Held on 18–19 July 2026 at the Do Theatre area in Khanh Hoa, Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam – Nha Trang City Trail 2026 brought together more than 2,000 runners across four distances: 5 km, 12 km, 21 km and 35 km. From the streets of the coastal city to the slopes of Co Tien Mountain, the event offered participants an opportunity to explore Nha Trang on foot, embrace new challenges and discover new experiences.

At 4:30 a.m. on 19 July, the 35 km race officially began. A stream of headlamps moved away from the starting line as runners set out to conquer the event’s longest distance. Participants in the 21 km, 12 km and 5 km races followed in turn, eager for the experiences ahead.

Nha Trang is known for its blue waters and coastal roads, but the City Trail course offered runners a different perspective. Paved roads gradually gave way to natural trails, rocky terrain and steep sections on Co Tien Mountain. The changing terrain required runners to adjust their pace, manage their energy and pay closer attention to every step.

Amid the sunshine, sea breeze and low-growing vegetation, the views gradually opened up as runners climbed higher. From Co Tien Mountain, Nha Trang Bay came into view, offering a moment to pause and appreciate how far they had come. Exploring a destination through their own physical effort made each view all the more memorable.

With four distances to choose from, participants could set a goal suited to their abilities. For some, this meant completing their first race; for others, transitioning from road running to trails or working towards a longer distance. Every goal began with a willingness to step beyond their everyday routine.

The encouragement shared among runners became a memorable part of the event. Nguyen Dung, a participant from Ho Chi Minh City, shared that words of encouragement from fellow runners helped him keep going when he experienced muscle cramps. Along the same course, runner Nguyen Kien accompanied a friend with a visual impairment, helping them navigate the mountain climbs. These stories highlighted the value of having someone by your side when challenges arise.

The finish line marked the completion of one journey while opening the door to new goals. After their first experience, participants might feel inspired to train more regularly, try a new distance or invite family and friends to join them. The spirit of adventure lives on through these everyday choices: making time to stay active, visiting somewhere new and giving yourself the opportunity to take on a challenge.
